I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things that surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

Just a few finds!

Hello my friends! I certainly hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
The weather here has been fabulous! (Finally it's summer IN AUGUST!) But, I am not complaining, it's been heaven.

This weeks treasures are few I must say. Friday I made my rounds of the local thrift stores, enjoyed myself, but didn't find much. I came home with one thing...which actually, was something I had been keeping an eye out for, for a while.

Remember this little antique dresser I re-purposed and showed you in my "Canopy Bed" post?

I'd always wanted a mirror that attaches to it, like these...

My dresser does not quite have the lovely "bones" these do, but I think adding this little antique mirror will help!

It was my thrift find for the day. I'll paint it white and attach it to my dresser.

It was a nice surprise to find it in the perfect size and for $10.

Now, for Saturday's Finds...

I broke my golden rule on this chair....
don't buy unless you know what you are going to do with it!
I couldn't help myself though, it's so pretty and old, and it needed a home!

It needs a little glue, and a  good polish (I think it would be a sin to paint it).
But I managed to get it for $12!
(still trying to figure out where I'm gonna put it after I fix it all up!) LOL

The only other things I bought are a bunch of soft covered novels and this clock. Novels 70 cents for 7 and clock for $2.

My hubby found something for himself, a great find:
He's wanted one for a while, it's an Aluratec e-book reader.
It was still in the box, for $40.
Have a great week!

  1. Ooohhhhh you did good once again!! I love the mirror and I can't wait to see it all dressed up. :) You know I think that I would have had to get the rocker too, it is beautiful! Yeah for hubby for finding the reader, I hope he is enjoying it this weekend. :)
    Enjoy your evening sis!!!
