I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things that surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

Inspiring Ideas - Headboards

Ah, the bedroom. I personally like a bed dressed in crisp white linens, covered in a multitude of fluffy pillows and decorative cushions...cozy, inviting and luxurious. Bedrooms are for relaxing, reading, sleeping and of course lovemaking....so they absolutely must be comfortable. A headboard is just a little "jewelry" for the bedroom.
Headboards! So many different styles to choose from, which one suits your decor?

Easy and affordable, decals can be great!

Or, if you're good with a paint brush, paint your own version of these designs.

I personally love these old doors re-purposed into headboards...

I also love recycling, so here are some recycled wood headboards...

I love the patina on this one, the gray-green colors appeal to me.

Old shutters....

Album covers attached to the wall and fronted with plexi-glass. Great idea for a teens room!

A padded headboard made out of a large picture frame.
So pretty for a little girls room.
Give an old shelf a new life!
Very creative!

Inexpensive and a great way to use wallpaper.
A simple upholstered headboard is an easy DIY and also inexpensive to make.
Creative recycling at it's best. Old pallets, who knew?
