I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things that surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

Frugal Frenchie's Friday Finds and Garage Sale Goodies

Hi There! I hope you are all having a good weekend. Unfortunately my Thrift Store buddy's work schedule has changed, so the "Frugal Frenchie's Friday Finds" will no longer be a "regular" occurrence. It's just not as much fun to go by myself! I'll miss our Friday's together Karen! You may still see an occasional one, with or without garage sale items. Anyway, this is what I found yesterday at the thrift stores..

Thrift Store Finds
A handmade plate from Portugal for $1

Cute little metal tea light holder 50 cents
This absolutely lovely shadow box/shelf with pretty scalloped edges

It was already painted white, perfect! A mere $3!
A small glass seashell shaped dish for 50 cents.

The seashells look so pretty displayed on that shelf!
I also found this white cotton lacy apron for $1.50!

It's so pretty, I had to get it, even though I don't cook!

 Garage Sale Goodies

The weather was not the best today for garage sales in our area. We only went to two, but managed to find a few deals:
This little metal plant stand was a good find for $2...
When she mentioned she had another one, I took it too!

They've both already been put to use,
One in the bathroom...

and the other by the front door.

At another garage sale, I found this beautiful quilt (double) and two pillow shams that have just enough "wear" in them that they have that
soft cotton coziness about them.

They are now freshly washed and perfect to cuddle up under! {sigh} ($5)

And Hubby found himself something he wanted:
A brand-new-never-used Tefal deep fryer!
He does like his french fries occasionally!
(don't worry about his arteries, he doesn't eat them often, lol)
also $5.

That's all for now! Enjoy the rest of the weekend
and
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's & Step-dad's out there!

Thanks for following!
xx

  1. You scored again! I love everything that you picked up! Those plant stands are amazing and so great that there were two. The quilt is beautiful, it looks soft and cozy and I adore the shadow box with your sea treasures. I am so sorry that Karen can't go as often, it really isn't any fun to by yourself, although I do, it is just much more fun with a friend. :)
