I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things that surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

The "peggy thingy" has found a purpose! Yeah!

Remember this thingy? I found it in the Spring Complex Cleanup...
I really like the color of the wood, it's definitely been outside for a while and exposed to the elements. It reminds me of driftwood.
I thought of many uses for it, hang purses in my closet, towels in the bathroom or even just to put hats on. I'm not a purse collector, we already have a towel bar and we don't own too many hats. I have an idea, however, before I show you, I have to change this....

 TO....

A great jewelry organizer! My jewelry is usually kept in the little wooden jewelry boxes I have, or in a big tangled up mess in a dish on my dresser.

Not anymore!

 I LOVE IT!
I "borrowed" the mirror from above the living room fireplace, for now, until I get around to turning this...
Mirror I found at a garage sale for $1

Into this...

Wouldn't that look great next to the jewelry organizer?
(just another project to add to the long list!)

Until then, the space above the fireplace has been changed to this...
I absolutely love the painting I got for $5 at the thrift store a while ago.
The seashell sign was $3 at the thrift store!

The coral and seashell are from Mexico, the driftwood from the beach in Steveston.
  It will do for now.

Have a great Saturday! Garage sales tomorrow! Yeah!

As always, thanks for following...
xx
