I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things that surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

Sunshine!

In my last post, I brought up complained about the dark, wet weather. Well, the "Sun Gods" heard me, and we've had some really sunny, although chilly, beautiful days!

I may just get my wish for some snow too! They are predicting snow tomorrow!

Today, while running some errands, I took a quick detour to Gary Point to check out the beach.  As I drove up the sky was cloudy, the sun was shining and hail fell for a few minutes. I took a few pictures, before my hands froze!

Every winter the rain forms a little pond in the park, when it gets cold enough it freezes and makes a wonderful little skating rink!

Just off the main pathway at Garry Point Park in Steveston, British Columbia, overlooking the southern fork of the Fraser River spilling into the Pacific Ocean is the Fisherman's Memorial Needle, paying tribute to those who lost their lives to the job, a memorial fitting for a Village with its roots so deeply intertwined with the sea. This distinctive monument sits where all fishing boats must pass it, a reminder for some, a memorial for others.

Now, bring on the snow!!!
Have a great Sunday & week!

Thanks for following.

  1. These are just gorgeous! Look at that sun coming through like that, so beautiful. I love the Memorial as it points to the sky, what a beautiful thing to have and do. I have to say that I love the pond too, how fun!
