I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things that surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

I just love when my hubby has a weekend off! We really enjoy going to garage sales together, and today was a lovely day for just that!

We found a few goodies:

an old army trunk for free - yes, FREE!
(I have no idea what to do with it tho, any ideas? Anyone?)
A little wooden box made from 100 yr old cedar tree.
(or so it say's inside)

frames, large one $1 and small ones 25 cents.
a glass fishing float for $3 and a little lamp for our outdoor room for $2
A cobalt blue glass jug for 50 cents!
A round mirror for a dollar.

Some cute outdoor lights for $2
22 brass knobs (soon to be spray painted as you'll see in another post) for $1
 A small glass bottle
A large (pretty blue glass) bottle for collecting change (for Mexico).
and last but not least, this beautiful  Matelasse Coverlet for a mere $4!
It's reversible and has stripes on the other side.

  1. Hi darling! I had to come see what you have been up to and what goodies that you found. :) You found some great ones too! I love the trunk. Maybe you can put wheels on it and make a table or put some pretty flower pots in it, paint it maybe. I know that you will come up with something amazing. :) The jar is perfect, fill it to the top fro Mexico! :) The lights in your oasis room look so good, I bet it is so pretty in there at night.
I am glad that you enjoyed your weekend with your hunny! :)
