I am a wife, a mother, an auntie and a friend. I love thrifting, garage sales, re-purposing, creating, painting, anything that makes our little rental home more welcoming, comfortable and cozy. I have discovered the "art" of amateur photography & I love the idea of capturing the beauty in the ordinary everyday thingsthat surround us. Blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and share with people who have the same interests. My personal taste in decorating leans towards "casual cottage/coastal decor". I now have a small shop on etsy, called "SandySeashore" where you'll find some of my vintage finds, my photography and some handmade things. I hope you take the time to check it out! Thanks for droppin' in!

Painting...my work in progress.
Okay, so I don't "hate" it so much anymore!....I solved the problem I was having with the ugly wall (that I painted to cover the window that looked so wrong), by covering the wall with a white curtain, blowing in the ocean breeze. This is starting to be more relaxing and fun now. What's the big deal anyway? Right?! It's just a painting. Step by step, I am learning. Trial and error. I took a painting class years ago, (20+) and don't remember a thing I learned! Oh, well. Whatever!
That's a little better...
My peony looks more like a rose...
...a little more like a peony. I've never painted one before. I had originally planned on a white peony, but I thought it needed more color.
Hm. What should I work on next?
I think maybe it's time to leave it alone for a while.
I'm just happy that I've found something I can do with my hands that doesn't involve power tools.
